Varithena (polidocanol) injectable foam is for the treatment of incompetent great saphenous veins, accessory saphenous veins and visible varicosities of the great saphenous vein (GSV) system above and below the knee. Varithena improves the symptoms of superficial venous incompetence and the appearance of visible varicosities.
The VENCLOSE™ Procedure
One of our experts will insert a small catheter into the diseased vein. The catheter will deliver heat, causing the diseased vein to shrink and close. The catheter is slowly withdrawn to treat the entire diseased vein. Once treatment is completed, blood flow will naturally reroute to nearby healthy veins. If necessary, we will apply a bandage and may recommend compression to help the healing.
